Installation Module The blanket that completely covers the walls in a vacuum vessel protects the steel and magnetic structures of the superconducting toroidal field from the neutrons of heat energy and the energy produced by the fusion reaction. When neutrons are slowed on blankets, their kinetic energy is converted into heat energy and collected by water cooling. At fusion power plants, this energy will be used for power production.
